About Renzo Gracie

Renzo Gracie is a Brazilian mixed martial artist and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioner. A member of the Gracie family of Brazil, Renzo is a 6th Degree Black in Brazilian Jiu-jitsu under Carlos Gracie Jr.

As a world famous Jiu-Jitsu coach, Gracie has helped train a number of professional fighters such as: Georges St-PierreJohn Danaher, Frankie EdgarChris WeidmanMatt SerraRicardo AlmeidaRoy NelsonRodrigo Gracie and Paul Creighton. In Jiu-jitsu and MMA, Renzo has competed in the Ultimate Fighting ChampionshipPride Fighting Championships, ADCCK-1RINGS, and International Fight League (head-coaching the New York Pitbulls).

Renzo Gracie Seattle has Brazilian Jiu-jitsu as its core discipline. Our program features both training principles of Gi and no Gi, along with Submission Grappling and wrestling. We spend an equal amount of time in stand up and ground training so our students become proficient in takedowns, ground control and submissions. We also draw on other grappling martial arts such as judo so our curriculum can be applied for other combat sports matches or self defense.
